Darwin Centre phase 2

Natural History Museum – opens Autumn 2009

A 16,000 sqft cocoon-shaped building to house the museum’s botany and entomology collection opens in September 2009. Lucy or Robert worked with exhibition designers At large to produce displays for the public areas. The graphic scheme used the museum’s collection of herbarium and entomological drawings as its starting point, bringing together images of insects and plants in displays not seen in nature, but which are imagined on the ‘page’. The reception area uses ceramic tiles printed by Johnson Tiles; large scale panels beautifully printed direct to alucabond by NES Solutions; lambda prints to glass and acrylic by BAF.
