British Museum wayfinding

The British Museum has one of the world’s largest collections, and displays over 50,000 artefacts in an exhibiton area of over 75,000 sqm.
We have been working with the museum since 2006 to upgrade the wayfinding and sign system throughout nearly one hundred public galleries – over 3 km of exhibition space.
The on-going work includes a coherent suite of pictograms, the display of the museum map, a system of directional signs, a unified set of gallery introduction stelae, and live audio-visual events calendars.
