Three things

Friday, September 24th, 2010

We made three main improvements to the plot this year: rotating the plot to align with a new grid across the walled garden; an asparagus bed; five espalier apple trees, the beginnings of a ‘step-over’. We’ve added fig and rhubarb, had a great harvest of broadbeans, peas, cauliflower, leeks, squashes and this hundredweight pumpkin. The Black Hambro’ grapes are coming along nicely, and the Golden Wonder brought from Ireland are ready to crop. And now it’s planting time again . . . !
